Easter Sunday Special dawn prayer meeting and Easter Sunday service time change
Since last week, we have been holding special dawn prayer meetings with the theme of ‘The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry’. Thank you so much for waking up early in the morning and joining us. Until last week, we had the meetings online, but during this Holy week, we decided to gather at the church and pray together through the special dawn prayers.
This week is also Palm Sunday. This was when Jesus took up the cross and climbed the hill of Golgotha. Even in the midst of his busy life, Jesus took time to pray to have an intimate relationship with God by finding a place of prayer at dawn, and we should do the same by following the practice of Jesus. For those who go to work early in the morning, after the special dawn prayer meetings, the church will provide some basic food so you can eat and go to work. The preparations will be done by rostered house churches as we have done in the past.
Friday is Good Friday. It was when Jesus was crucified. People make plans to go to holidays here and there, but we first need to take time to meditate on the cross of Jesus. Australian churches also hold services on Good Friday, but we have been having special dawn prayer meetings during this period, so we will gather and worship at the same time as the special dawn prayer meeting (6am).
Let Easter be a worship of joy with the risen Lord. Invite those you would like to invite to the Easter Sunday Service to worship together.
The first service on Easter Sunday will be changed to 9.10am. The reason for doing so is to minimise the confusion caused by the narrow time interval between the first and second services. We ask for your understanding from those who have difficulty serving due to the change in worship time and that we are also trying to solve the difficulties caused by the lack of space. The second service and ANW service times will remain the same.
We do not usually eat after the first service but on Easter Sunday, we want to have a short time for you to have rice cakes together after the service. If you want to have a meal, it will be made available after the second service.
In summary:
Special dawn prayer meetings at church: Tue-Thur 5.30am
Good Friday, Saturday dawn prayer meeting: 6am
Easter Sunday first service: 9.10am (all other services at normal times)
