Preparing for the use of the SCC Vision Centre
It is thankful that the purchase of 33rd John Street went successfully. I thought we needed a name for 33rd John Street, so we have temporarily named it the SCC Vision Centre. It may change later when the official name is chosen. We plan to appoint a person to be in charge of the centre through the Church administration committee.
In order to use the vision centre, it must be renovated. The renovation will be carried out by a team centered around Shepherd Kim JongYong, the chairman of the architecture committee, drawing up a plan, and hiring contractors. However, since it will take time until then, we will first repair and clean the centre building and other necessary parts so that we can start using it for various gatherings and provide parking. To this end, we ask church members to participate by dedicating a small portion of their time and talents. If you do that, I think we can start using the centre. I will leave the professional work to the third party company, but the parts that require repair and cleaning are as follows. The necessary parts are as follows;
1) Vision Centre internal repair team, (Team leader: HyunJin Ji): Inspection and repair of broken internal facilities, replacement of lights, power points, toilet repair, partial painting, safety devices, air conditioning facilities, etc.
2) Vision Centre external team, (Team leader: JongYong Kim): Tidying up for use as a parking lot, cleaning the exterior area, mowing the lawn, cutting down small trees (Making a fence. Large trees are planned to be cleared through a company)
3) Vision Centre environment team, (Team leader: EunMook Kim): Cleaning, kitchen, decoration, curtains, necessary furniture, and facility arrangement, etc.
The Vision Centre's internal repair team and external team will start on Saturday, October 29, Saturday, November 5, and on a date determined by the teams. The Vision Centre Environment team will start after the Vision Centre internal repair team has finished. The dates can be changed depending on the team's situation.
Things to note when using the centre is that it has not yet been authorised to be used as an official community centre, so it should not cause any inconvenience to neighbours or make it noisy. Therefore, the use is only permitted by permission, and efforts must be made to avoid causing difficulties to neighbouring residents. Parking can also cause difficulties if there are too many people suddenly parking and making noises, so parking will be limited to a certain number of vehicles.
