The Word of Promise for 2024: "God has great plans for you" (Jeremiah 29:11)
The new year of 2024 has dawned upon us. This year's word of promise is summarized from Jeremiah 29:11, stating, "God has amazing plans for you." While we will delve into the specifics of the word of promise during the New Year sermon, the reason for sharing a word of promise each year is to encourage holding onto and praying with at least one scripture throughout the year, and to apply it to our lives.
When constructing any building, there is always a blueprint in place. How much more would God, the Creator, have a plan for the lives of His beloved children? Our lives are more magnificent than any architectural structure. Living with faith in God's blueprint and plan makes a significant difference compared to a life without such guidance.
However, it is important not to limit the understanding of God's statement about having amazing plans for our lives to personal wishes or desires. God's plan may differ from our thoughts, and it tends to be more communal than individual. For instance, when God called Abraham, saying, "I will make you into a great nation," it wasn't just a plan for Abraham to live a prosperous life. It was a grand plan through him for all nations to be blessed.
I hope that all members of Sydney Crystal Church will live by the words, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). There are still many challenges and tasks to fulfill in our life journey. Therefore, we make many plans, but a life plan without God ultimately becomes futile. We must believe and trust that God has amazing plans for our lives.
If you trust in God's plan, consider prioritizing a God-centered focus on seeking His kingdom and righteousness. Record your reflections, expectations, and commitments to obedience and practice as you trust and expect God's plan, and share them in the house church meetings.
In 2024, I pray that God's amazing plan will manifest in your life through your ministry and family.
