Reflection after the 308th House Church seminar for pastors (Missionary Kyung Soon Choi)
The spring energy in Sydney reminded us of the spring in our homeland, Korea, bringing us joy as we live in a summer country.
The meticulous preparations of administration and meals, grounded in service and love, with their hearts open toward the lost were shown in Sydney Crystal Church. The lectures, testimonies, and experiences of house church life allowed the pastors from Fiji and their spouses to deeply engage with the realities that missionaries have repeatedly explained through teachings, seminars, and shared meals. The meals themselves felt like artistic masterpieces, with carefully selected menus that provided both delightful tastes and visual enjoyment. The hands of service lined up at each table created an atmosphere that even a first-class restaurant might struggle to replicate. We felt immense happiness and gratitude in such a respectful and warm environment.
At Sydney Crystal Church, which has matured in the concept of house church, the focus on soul salvation is not merely a catchphrase but evident at the centre of life. It reflects the hard-fought journey through the struggles faced during the early days of immigration. If the aim had been solely towards success, wealth, or a comfortable life, we wouldn’t have witnessed the next generation of children becoming shepherds and shepherds’ wives, engaging in the mission to rescue souls ravaged by sin. Their dedication to saving lost souls places their own difficulties aside, and in that process, their lives and characters seem to become more Christ-like.
We wholeheartedly support Sydney Crystal Church, led by Pastor Song and his wife, as they unite in humility and love with fervent passion and perseverance. One soul saved leads to the establishment of a house church, which is now reviving other churches, extending their reach even to Fiji and awakening thirteen countries in the South Pacific. We are grateful to those who provided accommodations for our missionary family and the Fijian pastors and their spouses, allowing them to experience house church and village gatherings. Your service will not go in vain. Thank you, and may you receive abundant blessings from above!
Word of the week
Becoming more like Jesus is the goal of a genuine Christian life. We can start living a life that resembles Jesus by making an effort to follow someone who embodies His qualities.
