The 2026 first-half Life Bible Study season has returned. For our faith to grow holistically, the three pillars—knowledge, emotion, and will—must function together. In House Church, we listen to God’s Word through corporate worship and train ourselves in intentional decisions and commitment for spiritual growth and transformation. Through house church meetings, we share life and emotions, engaging in emotional formation, and through Life Bible Studies, we receive intellectual formation.
As most of you know, there are required Life Bible Study courses (Living Life, Life of Assurance, New Life, Life of Devotion, and Life of Experiencing God), as well as a variety of elective courses. Let me introduce the Life Bible Studies that will begin this first half of the year and explain what has changed.
Living Life (Korean) has been newly revised. For the first time, Pastor Yoon Young Ok will be teaching this course. Those who register and have not yet taken Living Life are strongly encouraged to participate.
Life of Assurance is a one-on-one Bible study conducted together by the shepherd and house church members. I believe Life of Assurance played a major role in establishing the house churches of Sydney Crystal Church. All shepherds and shepherds’ partners must take the instructor course and be equipped to help the spiritual growth of their house church members. Those who have not yet completed the instructor course must be sure to do so.
New Life is a Life Bible Study that focuses on changing one’s values after believing in Jesus. For the Korean class, I will be teaching again after a long time. Life of Experiencing God is a required course for anyone who desires to become an official shepherd.
Among the elective courses opening this term is Life of the Word (Old Testament). This course helps participants understand the overall flow of the Bible and read Scripture more effectively. Only those who have completed Living Life may apply. Due to its popularity, enrolment is limited to 20 people. Life of Parents is a course designed for parents raising children. Life of Financial Stewardship is newly introduced this time and will use the Life of a Steward curriculum, which Houston Seoul Church used for many years. This course provides biblically based financial training.
All Life Bible Study courses have a maximum enrolment limit. Required courses such as Living Life and New Life require at least seven participants to open. If the minimum enrolment is not met, the course will not be able to begin on the scheduled date. For those who have not yet been able to take a Life Bible Study, I encourage you to take this opportunity and join.
