Of all the things we face in life, what I personally find the hardest to deal with is ‘misunderstandings’. I have often been hurt when after having dedicated myself to serving someone, I am repaid with misunderstandings and resentment.
Today’s devotion is telling us how to overcome these moments and gain strength in our hearts. We should think of the numerous people in the Bible and of our fellow believers. We should also remember those who are praying for us and God’s comforting words for the distressed. I am confident there are people arounds us that God has sent us as a gift. Their warmth gives us strength in our hearts.
If you are going through a tough time, please persevere. God will surely resolve misunderstandings and reveal the truth, and reward us for our perseverance.
Passage: James 5:1-12
9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!
10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
11 As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
