A pastor once said the following: our generation does not pray for repentance, and churches of this generation do not declare the Scriptures regarding ‘sin’.
I have to agree. We often pray about our requests, our problems, and our wishes but when it comes to asking God for forgiveness of our sins, we rarely do so.
When have you prayed in tears for repentance?
The tribe of Judah witnessed the Israelites being punished after worshipping other gods, yet they committed the same sin. In today’s passage, the Lord tells the people of Judah in south Isarael, “Repent of your sins and return to me, I will forgive you.”
As such, when we turn from our sins and sincerely ask God, “I have sinned, please forgive me’, God will allow His Kingdom amongst us.
Do you have sins not yet resolved? Please pray for the Lord’s forgiveness.
Passage: Jeremiah 3:1-18
14 “Return, faithless people,” declares the Lord, “for I am your husband. I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion.
15 Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.
