God speaks to us. He says that if there is at least one righteous person who works justly and lives truthfully, he will not perish this place. Sodomite was ten righteous people. But unlike Sodom who was judged because they did not have ten righteous people, God asked for one righteous person in Jerusalem. One righteous person who not only knows God, worships him and prays to him, but one who lives out the life God wants. I pray that we become this one person. So that when God seeks the righteous in Sydney, I hope that we will be there as well as our church.
Jeremiah 5:1-9
1.“Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem,
look around and consider,
search through her squares.
If you can find but one person
who deals honestly and seeks the truth,
I will forgive this city.
2 Although they say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives,’
still they are swearing falsely.”
