The Hebrew definition of holy is separate. Therefore, we refer to being separated from sin and unlawful things as holy.
God asked the Israel people to live a holy life.
God is holy, so he wanted the Israelites, who were made in his form, to live a holy life as well.
And today we, who are called Christians and live as God’s people on this earth, need to live a holy life.
For this to happen, I hope in our lives we can resolve to throw away even if it is valuable, separate negative habits, feelings and actions and defeat all the evil which is blocking us from holiness.
Passage: Leviticus 11:29-47
44 I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground.
45 I am the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
