          • Message from Pastor Song:
            People Living in Glass Houses

During my theological school days, there were words from a Pastor that I heard repeatedly, and some of them have stayed with me until now. Phrases like "Pastors should know they live in a glass house," "Don't become a hypocrite as a pastor," and "Don't use your position as a pastor to exert power on others" were among them. At that time, as a theology student without practical experience, I didn't fully understand what these words meant. However, as I engaged in pastoral work, I gradually grasped their significance. In particular, the phrase "Pastors should know they live in a glass house" became clear to me.
Pastors, like anyone else, sin and stumble due to their sinful nature and weaknesses. However, because of the pastoral role, they can sometimes pretend to be righteous and fine. Since it cannot be hidden, I tried not to hide myself. I made an effort to see my hidden sins in front of the Word. This ultimately allowed me to live and revive the church.
Not only pastors but all Christians are people living in glass houses. Expressions in the Bible such as "the multitude in white robes" and "those who wash their robes" are all expressions directed towards those who live transparent lives before God. In a world where hiding and living with concealed emotions is common for survival, revealing oneself transparently is not an easy task. However, I believe that the power and freedom of Christians come from a transparent life. Living thinking no one will know is a big misconception. Regrets will come. If you think someone is watching you and that all your actions are recorded, you can be free from hidden sins and temptations.
It becomes exhausting to live in a world where everyone is pretending to be strong, to appear fine, and exerting strength, even in pastoral and church settings. However, if you can reveal yourself, it becomes an opportunity for growth and recovery.
In the house church, the work of the Holy Spirit manifests, and healing and restoration occur when one's life is transparent. When someone opens up about their sins and weaknesses, they experience the Holy Spirit's work. While the Holy Spirit is the agent of healing and restoration, creating an atmosphere of healing and restoration is our responsibility.

            Word of the week
Merry Christmas! This week, there is a camp for the Youths. Please pray that the youths may have a time to encounter God personally through this camp.
