Many pastors wish to visit Sydney Crystal Church to observe and learn from the Sunday Corporate Worship, house church gatherings, and the life of service. Over the past two weeks, we had visits from Missionaries Jeong Hyun-wook and Kang Wendy (Yooly) from Madagascar, and Missionaries Kim Chang-young and Park Song-yi from Cambodia. They received your love and have returned to their mission fields. The missionaries were deeply moved and comforted by your unwavering dedication and service. Even though you live as foreigners and strangers in Australia, I, as a pastor, am also touched by the way you warmly welcome and serve those who visit.
Below is a message left by Missionaries Jeong Hyun-wook and Kang Hyun-ok before they departed:
As missionaries, there is nothing we found particularly difficult. Everything was bearable and covered by God's grace. However, parting ways and not being able to share daily life with others is still very challenging. As the church grows, missionaries must also grow. We think you may have concerns about sending an inexperienced and overly passionate missionary family.
Like many of the shepherds and shepherd’s partners, we return to a house church where we pick up our children, pack lunches, commute to work (clinic and Akany Center), shop for groceries, and prepare food for house church meetings. I believe that I am called a missionary because I hold house church meetings far away, while you are called shepherds and shepherd’s partners because you live near a Korean grocery store.
We leave with unforgettable love deeply embedded in our hearts.
We tried to fill our eyes with every corner of the church and the faces of the congregation. Perhaps we are called the sent missionaries of a strong and loving church because we are so lacking. Thanks to our beloved sending church, we walk with shoulders held high and hearts filled with love wherever we go. Let us meet again in prayer.
- From Missionaries Jeong Hyun-wook and Wendy Yooly
Word of the week
Those who come to the front for commitment should complete their commitment card and place it on the table. Then, please pray while waiting, and we will pray for you in order.
