          • Registered Members and Active Members (3)
Sydney Crystal Church distinguishes between registered members and active members. Below is a summary of the registration process for both registered members and active members, along with the updated details.
            1. Registered Member: A registered member does not need to believe in Jesus, but only needs to have the intention of living out their faith in this church. However, they must belong to a house church.
            1. When first visiting the church, they fill out a visitor card.
            2. After the service, they have a meeting with the senior pastor to receive an introduction to the church and information on registration conditions.
            3. The registration process involves being guided by a shepherd or the welcome team to meet with the pastor, then joining a house church. Once settled in a house church, the registered member commits during the dedication time at the end of the service under the guidance of their shepherd, becoming a registered member.
            4. Once the commitment is made, a church bulletin pigeon hole will be assigned to them. Starting from 2025, registered members will be welcomed during the service and receive a welcome gift.
            2. Active Member: An active member has the right to participate in church ministry, voting, and other church matters. Being an active member also means having responsibilities and duties. The reason only active members have voting rights and the right to participate in church ministries is that the church, as the body of Christ with Christ as its head (Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 1:23), requires members to commit to service and ministry for the body of Christ. However, to help registered members adapt to the church and grow closer, there are exceptions for church ministry and service. For example, while responsibilities such as worship, education, and training might be difficult, various ways to participate in ministry are open to registered members, such as ministry cooperation, assistant teachers, kitchen service, and support roles in different departments (refer to the ministry application form).
To become an active member, one must:
            1. Attend the Receiving Jesus meeting and be baptised (by submersion),
            2. Complete the Living Life Bible study,
            3. The shepherd submits a membership application, and with the consent of the active members, the person becomes an active member. Starting from 2025, a membership application form will be completed, and the membership process will be followed for becoming an active member.
The system of registered members and active members started in July 2014, so those who registered before then, who have been baptised, belong to a house church, and follow the church's direction and vision, are considered active members. Those who have graduated from the student ministry and are now single adults (18 years or older) are recognised as active members if they have completed the Living Life Bible study during the student ministry. However, starting from 2025, adults will need to complete the adult Living Life Bible study before becoming active members.
