          • A Redemptive Meditation on My Sin
Last week, I attended a QT seminar led by Pastor Kim Yang-jae, the publisher of QTin Meditation Booklet. In Sydney, there are no other churches using QTin, so Pastor Kim was pleased to hear that we have been using it. The reason I chose QTin as our church's quiet time material was because of its reflection questions, its redemptive application that helps us see our own sins, and the testimonies it included. Additionally, QTin is used by Wooridul Church, which practices house church meetings (though their meetings differ somewhat from ours).
QTin contains honest confessions of shameful sins and testimonies of transformation within the community. Rather than viewing these testimonies as shameful, I found them to be precious. In the book of Acts, one of the key signs of the Holy Spirit’s work was repentance brought about by understanding the Word. Similarly, the history of Christianity’s revival in Korea was ignited by the confession of sin and repentance, which served as fuel for the Holy Spirit’s fire.
No matter how long someone has been a believer, they will not change if they fail to recognise their own sin. Instead, when problems arise, they will judge and condemn others. They will struggle to interpret their suffering. However, when a person sees their own sin through the Word, transformation is inevitable. The change in one person will lead to family restoration, house church will experience the work of saving souls, and the church will witness revival. That is why it is a blessing when we can see our own sin and weaknesses through the Word and interpret our suffering in light of God's plan.
I earnestly hope that Bible quiet time becomes a culture in both our church and house church. I encourage you to purchase the QTin app and participate in sharing your reflections. Every morning before 6 AM, pastors post their quiet time reflections in both English and Korean, fostering a culture of sharing in house church KakaoTalk groups. Shepherds and Shepherds’ partners, your role is not just to pass along the quiet time reflections but to first meditate on the Word, apply it to your lives, and then set an example by sharing your reflections in the house church KakaoTalk group. House church members, even short reflections are welcome—let’s work together to make Bible quiet time a natural part of our house church culture.

            Word of the week
Let’s create a culture of meditating on God's Word in every house church. A day without the Word leaves us living in worry, relying only on our own effort and deeds. A house church that meditates every morning is a house church that is alive and brings life to others.
