Next Friday, September 19, the 884th House Church Seminar for Lay Leaders will begin. This time, a total of 34 participants will attend from 15 churches in Brisbane, Melbourne, New Zealand, Korea, and the Sydney area. Registration filled up on the very first day, showing the great interest of many churches. Even after it closed, inquiries continued, but due to limited space we unfortunately could not accept more.
This seminar is for lay leaders from churches that have started or are already practicing the House Church prinicple. Through lectures, participants learn the biblical foundations of the church and practical ministry know-how, hear testimonies from shepherds and shepherd’s partners, and gain inspiration. They also join an actual house-church meeting, stay overnight in a shepherd’s home, and experience fellowship firsthand.
To prepare, the whole church is being refreshed and decorated, a united celebration service is being organized, each house church is making ready, and the shepherd couples are preparing to host guests in their homes. Though the seminar requires significant budget and energy, God gives abundant grace and blessing to those who serve. The words “It is more blessed to give than to receive” are true. In God’s kingdom nothing is free: “You reap what you sow.” Just as Abraham unknowingly welcomed angels and received not only Isaac but also the spiritual blessing of becoming “the father of many nations,” the people who attend this seminar bring God’s blessing to our church and our house churches. So let us welcome them joyfully, as if we were receiving angels.
What participants remember most deeply after seminar is the atmosphere of the church and the seminar: the warmth and comfort combined with a passionate love for souls. This unique spirit is the special impact a House Church can give, and it is the grace God grants through the dedication and service offered for the seminar.
This seminar is not just an event for a few serving teams; it is a celebration the whole church creates together. Those who greet guests in person, those who pray, those who build the atmosphere through worship and praise, and those who share Christ’s fragrance through small acts of kindness and hospitality—all are key players. May everyone participate with one heart and mind so that this seminar overflows with a beautiful, Spirit-filled atmosphere.
