          • Let us not be foolish people

The Bible refers to those who do not know God as foolish people.
In today’s passage, Judah is acting foolish and as if they do not know God. They do not fear Him nor try to listen to Him. They have become stubborn and foolish people unable to recognise sin.

They were not so foolish from the beginning. They knew God and trusted Him. But what happened to them?
It is their darkened ‘spirit’ that they were no longer able to see or hear.
            What darkened their spirit?

We too can become ‘foolish people’ so we must always be spiritually awake. We must arm ourselves with the Word of God and prayer every day.

            Do you not fear God?
Do you not tremble before Him?

Let us focus our thoughts on how we should lead our lives today before God.

            Passage: Jeremiah 5:20-31

21 Hear this, you foolish and senseless people,
who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear:
22 Should you not fear me?” declares the Lord.
“Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it.

            1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
            2. What is God’s message to you?
            3. What do you need to obey?
            4. What are you grateful for today?
