God was angry with the sin of the South Judah people. And because of their sin God punished them by leaving them with nothing to reap, and they were handed over to the enemy, and He said that He will send a viper to bite them. There is no longer a safe place for the people of South Judah.
Why was God so angry with these people?
It was because the people served other Gods and idols instead of Him. the people fell into the trap of these idols and they there taken away spiritually. These things can happen to us too. This is why we need to keep ourselves from distractions of the earthly temptations. We have to be aware in our lives, the things that we prioritise of love more than God are false idols.
We need to be concious of our daily lives so that we are not tempted and taken away by false idols.
Bible Verses we need to read - Jeremiah 8:13-22
15 We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!
16 The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein.
17 For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the Lord.
