When God says He will ‘do something’, He will surely do it. Therefore, do not take God’s warnings lightly.
Through Jeremiah, God continues to warn those who do not obey His words.
He is so furious that He tells Jeremiah, ‘do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them.’
This is God’s warning.
However, a warning comes before punishment and there is still a chance.
That is why God makes Jeremiah aware of people’s sins and aware of their reality.
There is still a chance.
Rid yourself of sin while God still has compassion. Do not take His words lightly and run away from sin with all your strength.
Are we listening to God?
Are we making any effort to obey His words?
Passage: Jeremiah 11:9-17
10 They have returned to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant I made with their ancestors.
11 Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry out to me, I will not listen to them.
14 “Do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
