Let’s try to understand God’s heart that is conveyed through Jeremiah, who is also known as the prophet of tears. The stiff necked people lived their lives according to their own wills, indulging in lies and holding onto vain hope. However, they could not escape the judgement of God. They did not listen to God’s advice nor obey which eventually led them destruction. God’s painful tears wants our eyes to open spiritually so that we will realise our sins and repent sincerely.
This morning I pray that God’s painful tears will come down from my eyes and our eyes so that we can return to God.
Passage to read: Jeremiah 14:13-22
17 “Speak this word to them: “‘Let my eyes overflow with tears night and day without ceasing; for the Virgin Daughter, my people, has suffered a grievous wound, a crushing blow.
18 If I go into the country, I see those slain by the sword; if I go into the city, I see the ravages of famine. Both prophet and priest have gone to a land they know not.’”
1.Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2.What is God’s message to me?
3.What do I need to be obedient to?
4.Write a list of thankful prayer points today.
