The people ignored the Word of God that Jeremiah preached. They mocked Jeremiah and said 'God only threatens us, but he isn't anything. Why doesn't he do what you threatened". But in spite of their ridiculing, he obeyed God's Word and God's judgement came upon Judas. Although Jeremiah was persecuted and ridiculed, he knew that God's will was to be fulfilled so he continued to preach. Like this, I hope that even when we are persecuted or burdened, we continue to live out God's Words.
Jeremiah 17: 12-18
15 They keep saying to me,
“Where is the word of the Lord?
Let it now be fulfilled!”
16 I have not run away from being your shepherd;
you know I have not desired the day of despair.
What passes my lips is open before you.
1. Did I think about Jesus when I woke up this morning?
2. What is God trying to tell me?
3. What do I need to obey?
