God had Jeremiah go down to the potter’s house and see him work. Why did He do this?
Potters make beautiful, useful dishes out of clay. How the clay dish is going to be used or how big it will be is not up to the dish to decide. It only needs to be used the way the potter intended.
We too are made by God from soil.
Our fate is not in our hands but God’s.
As said in verse 6, we must remember that ‘like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand’.
Let us pray that we can live today the way God, our potter, intended us to live.
Passage: Jeremiah 18:1-12
3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel.
4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.6 He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
