Prayer is having a conversation with God. Communication is possible when you understand each other. However, King Zedekiah did not understand God's heart and did not give his heart to him. He only asked for help to get out of his difficult situation. There are many people who just pray to God to get out of their hardships. But, that is not a prayer. To pray, you need to fall down before God. It is repenting about your own sin, not about the pain you are going through. I hope we all fall down before God and have a conversation with him.
Jeremiah 21: 1-7
1. The word came to Jeremiah from the Lord when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malkijah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah. They said:
2. “Inquire now of the Lord for us because Nebuchadnezzar[a] king of Babylon is attacking us. Perhaps the Lord will perform wonders for us as in times past so that he will withdraw from us.”
1. Did I think about Jesus when I woke up this morning?
2. What is God trying to tell me?
3. What do I need to obey?
