There are leaders who break down the community in which they belong, and those who lift them up to make them become greater. Leaders who destroy their community only lift themselves up for their own benefit whereas leaders who lift up their community will lower themselves for the community’s benefit. The atmosphere of the community changes depending on who the leader of the group is.
Jesus was a true shepherd who lifted us up and humbled himself. He was a humble leader who gave himself up for our benefit rather than his own. Let us be like him and lift up the community we belong to today.
Passage: Jeremiah 23:1-8
3 “I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number.
4 I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord.
