‘Morning dew’ reminds us of a fresh and clean feeling, but also something which disappears after a very short time. When we are young and healthy, we feel as though this youth will last forever, but time passes by quick and we become sick in many places. This is why the writer of Psalms says that our life flies by quick.
This is why we need to think that these precious days God has given us will pass by quickly, and live a life where we joyfully devote ourselves to meaningful and valuable things. If we do not do this, we will live a life where we devote our lives to useless things.
‘Morning dew’ represents God’s blessing upon the dry and barren land of Israel. Our lives are small and weak like the morning dew which disappears every day when the sun comes up, but people who joyfully devote themselves to God’s call are blessings on this dry and thirsty world.
Passage: Psalm 110:1-7
3 Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning’s womb.
4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
