          • Do not be discouraged.

Paul wrote to the Philippian saints even while he was tied to a chain in a cold prison cell in Rome.

For what reason did Paul write this letter?

Philippi is the place where Paul got imprisoned for preaching the gospel. It is the place where he experienced the miracle of the prison doors opening while he was singing hymns and praying, and the jailer who guarded the jail at the time started to believe in Jesus and a church was established.

At this time the saints of the Philippian church were undergoing all kinds of persecution for their faith and they needed comfort.
But Paul was not in a very good place himself. He was in prison and it was hard for him even to take care of himself.

But Paul speaks with confidence to them. He says "Do not be discouraged when you do good works. God who has begun the good work in you will carry it on to completion until the end. "

            Passage to read: Philippians 1:1-11
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.

1.Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2.What is God’s message to me?
3.What do I need to be obedient to?
4.Write a list of thankful prayer points today.
