God commanded Moses to set Aaron and his sons aside as holy in front of others. Why did God clothe them in holy garments in front of the whole assembly? It was to show everyone that He would use them as holy priests.
He wanted to say to all, ‘Look! They are my people who serve me, they are your priests!’
So God clothed them in special garments, put holy crowns on their heads and gave them a duty to serve the Lord.
‘We’ are also clothed in holy garments.
By believing in Jesus, we have been chosen, have become a holy nation and royal priests. So we must live as ‘priests’ in this world.
We must make God proud so that He can say, ‘Look! This is my holy priest whom I have appointed.’
Let us not forget that ‘holiness’ is not a choice but a must for us as believers.
Passage: Leviticus 8:1-9
2 “Bring Aaron and his sons, their garments, the anointing oil, the bull for the sin offering, the two rams and the basket containing bread made without yeast,
3 and gather the entire assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting.”
4 Moses did as the Lord commanded him, and the assembly gathered at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
