Jesus gave notice to his disciples about his future death and resurrection, and told his disciples about three attitudes those who follow him must have.
Firstly, to deny themselves, secondly, to take up their own cross, and thirdly, to follow Jesus.
[To deny yourself] is to deny your existence itself. In other words, it is to repent of our sins before Jesus, put down our will, desires and greed, and have an attitude of actively following Jesus. And [to take up your own cross] is about enduring through any hardships and sacrifices to fulfil the mission given by the Lord.
And Jesus said to [follow me]. This message is about whether you can believe and obey the Word of the Lord and follow it until the end without giving up, hiding, or running away.
Will you be able to take up your own cross and follow the Lord?

22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” God’s Concerns and Human Concerns
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
