Leviticus tells the people of Israel the rules of worship and life that they must keep in front of God. Through this, they learned how to worship God and live like God's people. The sacrifices in the Old Testament were very complicated. The best cattle, without blemish, were brought to God, their blood was shed for their sins, they were skinned, cut into small pieces, placed on the altar, and burned to please God with the fragrance. Those who see the cruelty of the livestock deeply realizes his sins and decides to stay away from his sins and live as a holy worshiper. How is our worship conducted? Every time I worship, I hope that I will be able to make a decision to live a holy life as a worshiper again, remembering Jesus who came to this earth for me and who suffered a cruel death.
Passage to read: Leviticus 1:1-17
6 You are to skin the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.
7 The sons of Aaron the priest are to put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.
8 Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the altar.
9 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
10 “ ‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep or the goats, you are to offer a male without defect.
